Spartan

The Spartan with its chubby shape and its most beautiful red complexion is one of the most crunchy! Introduced in orchards in 1936, this variety is derived from a cross between McIntosh and Yellow Newton Pippin varieties and was developed at the Center. Pacific Agri-Food Research Center located in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia.
